If you’re here, you probably already know the problem: you have numbers, reports, maybe even a bookkeeper, but you’re not completely sure they reflect what’s actually happening on the jobs.
You don’t need another sales pitch. You need to know what happens if we work together, what I’ll look at, and how we fix what needs fixing without tearing apart the things that are already working.
We use the same four-phase framework to figure out what’s going on, fix what needs fixing, build the right structure, and keep it working.
What we actually do: We start with a short Fit Call to talk about your business, what’s bothering you about the numbers, and what you want the books to help you answer.
If it makes sense to look at the file, you have two options.
We can hop on Zoom and look through QuickBooks together, or you can invite me into the file after the call and I’ll review it on my own.
Either way, the goal of the Do We Have a Problem?™ System Scan is simple:
Do we appear to have a problem, and where should we look next?
If I review the file on my own, I’ll send you a screen-recorded walkthrough of what I found, and then we can schedule a follow-up to talk through it.
If we need to go deeper, the next step is the Construction Books Deep Dive™. That’s where I dig into the bookkeeping structure, job costing, reporting, and the way information is moving through the business so we can figure out what’s actually wrong and what needs to happen next.
Why? Because I don’t want to quote a cleanup, rebuild, or monthly service based on a guess.
You should know what I found, what I think needs fixing, and why before we start changing anything.
What we actually do: If the historical books need work, we clean up what’s wrong and leave alone what’s already working.
That might mean a Backlog Catch-Up™ to get the books current, or a deeper Financial Site Cleanup™ to correct miscategorized transactions, balance-sheet problems, job-costing issues, and other historical problems.
We don’t blindly overwrite the file or rebuild everything just because we can.
We fix what needs fixing, talk with you or the person already doing the books, and make sure we understand how the company is actually operating before we start changing the system.
Why? Because you need a reliable starting point before you can trust what the reports are telling you.
Cleaning up the past gives us the foundation we need before we build better job costing, reporting, and workflows going forward.
What we actually do: QuickBooks only knows what makes it into QuickBooks.
So we look at what happens before the report too.
How jobs are estimated.
How costs are assigned.
How receipts, bills, change orders, and job information get from the field to the office.
How the person doing the books knows where everything belongs.
Then we build the QuickBooks structure, job-costing process, reporting, and workflows around the way your company actually operates.
Whether you’re doing the entry yourself or you already have someone in-house, the goal is the same:
Give the person doing the books a process they can actually succeed inside.
Why? Because your reports inherit every broken handoff that came before them.
When the estimate, field, office, and books are working from the same information, you can compare what you thought a job would cost with what actually happened and use that information to make the next estimate better.
What we actually do: Once the system is working, we decide how much ongoing help you actually need.
That might mean working alongside the person you already have, handling the month-end close and reporting, providing ongoing oversight, or taking over more of the bookkeeping.
You don’t automatically have to hand everything over to me.
And you don’t have to keep me forever just because I helped build the system.
Why? Because the goal isn’t to make you dependent on Logical Books.
The goal is to keep the books reliable, keep the information moving, and make sure the reports continue answering the questions you actually need answered.
Depending on the level of support, that can include regular reviews, focused reports, voice-note updates, and help when something doesn’t make sense.
Start with a quick conversation and, if it makes sense, a closer look at your QuickBooks. You can either:
